IDK my BFF Walter Iooss Jr.??

 Someone once told him:

Wherever I am is the perfect picture.”

Sports Illustrated magazine's director of photography, calls Iooss the foremost sports photographer of his generation, "a fixture in American journalism to a degree I think people who see the cover of Sports Illustrated don't know."

Who is sixty-five years old and still taking pictures? Walter Iooss Jr. is the one of the world’s famous and well-known sports photographer. Walter is from East Orange, New Jersey and became interested into photography when he was a teenager. He has shot over three hundred cover shoots for Sports Illustrated; documenting all the major sport figures like Serena Williams and Michael Jordan. Many people knew him known as a lucky guy. For forty years of taking sports photography, he has been recognized with awards for outstanding achievement in the industry.

Photojournalism

This photo was taken in New Orleans after the huge Hurricane Katrina hit by Dave Martin. Everything in that city got ruined. As you can see in the photo, the water is so high it is like one big swimming pool. People lost everything and now are struggling to survive. It shows how the effective the hurricane was and how people are having are time finding dry land.

This picture was taken by an award-winning photojournalist James Nachtway. He took this picture for Time website. This picture was taken during the 9/11 incident right after the planes hit the twin towers and starts to shatter.

Tony Avelar took this picture of what San Bruno, CA looks like  three days after the massive fire that happen recently, last Thursday. Here you can see how the fire ruined so many people's homes. Looking at this picture makes me feel sad inside because there are so many people now who lost there homes and makes me think how thankful I am.

This picture was taken by Chuck Cook, photographer for MSNBC. This was taken on a boat of two fishermen who caught some grab but are unable to sell it, due to the oil spill in gulf. The oil spill effected a lot of people's jobs because now they can not sell anything because the oil is now on the sea animals. If we eat anything with the oil we can probably die. In the picture you can see how the oil effected so many crabs that the fishermen are going to have a hard time making a living without selling any crabs for a while.

Here is a picture of a few American soldiers in Combat Outpost Nolen near Kandahar, Afghanistan taken by Evan Vucci. I think this photo should not exist because the soldiers should not be in war. They should be at home with their family. They probably miss their family as much as their family miss them. But yet they are able to fight for their country so we can finally live in peace.

Let's Go Explore!

I chose to take this picture using "the rule thirds" so you can see what kind of environment the plants where in. If I just took a shot of the plants alone, it would probably be hard to figure out where the plants are. You probably assume they are in some sort of backyard.
